The Steering Committee
The Steering
Committee are the officers who serve and run the Kith.
Their job is to
make sure that the Kith keeps running smoothly, and to take day
to day decisions affecting the Kith on a one-head one-vote
basis.
We have a policy of open administration, so each Committee member
makes regular reports to the membership, and we encourage feedback on
how well (or badly) we're doing.
The posts and roles
which make up the Steering Committee are as follows:
The Chairman: Responsible for organising the regular running of
the Kith, and making sure that we keep within our Goals and Remit.
The Secretary: Arranges Committee meetings, and is responsible
for reporting these activities to members. It's also the secretary's
job to organise membership, and to ensure that all members receive the
full rights of membership. Freya is Secretary.
The Treasurer: Responsible for handling the finances of the
Kith - including handling membership fees and contributions, as well
as managing the budgets and expenses. Freya is also Treasurer.
Journal Editor: Collates, edits and publishes "Sunwheel", the
Kith's official journal. The Editor is your point of contact if
you have something to say to the membership, since the journal is
often the best place to do it. As a gathering point for all your
thoughts and pearls of wisdom, "Sunwheel" also promotes ideas
that are in keeping with our Goals and Remit. Lyn is
"Sunwheel's" Editor and Alan edits "Frostfire."
Publicity Officer:
Responsible for updating adverts in journals, providing leaflets and
flyers for those attending events, maintaining relations with other
groups abroad. Lyn is currently doing this.
Member without
Portfolio (!):
Steve is currently the sixth member of the Committee.
